Counting the cost to follow Jesus Christ: What will you sacrifice to follow Jesus?
On several occasions, we have stressed the importance of counting the cost to follow Jesus. On the one hand, God the Father provided salvation for everyone who accepts the offer to come through the Father through Jesus, this is just the start. The other aspect is this:
20I have been crucified with Christ, and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. So, the life I now live in the body, I live because of the faithfulness of the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me. – Galatians 2:20
The first part of this verse is surely the most difficult thing a Christian believer must do – to set aside the self and give over totally to the will of Christ who lives in the person.
